“ It was a great opportunity to learn simple and effective approaches to overcome inertia ranging from: coaches using positive language that enable coachees to visualise the benefits of coaching for themselves ie that coaching is about finding stepping stones for themselves. Another example is the benefits of the ripple effect that occurs when an aspect in someone's life is sorted, the impact it has to transform other parts of that person's life. A wide range of ideas on how to address client inertia such as limiting beliefs, values, ambivalence etc were discussed. I found idea of taking the client back to their childhood or wherever the their beliefs come from and then empowering the client to turn these over to positive beliefs, invaluable. ”
