I have recently introduced the STAR model to the ITOL Diploma in Coaching Excellence and it is proving highly popular.

STAR takes a cognitive behavioural approach to problematic situations and is extremely effective for, although not exclusive to, business coaching.

This is NOT the same as a STAR model sometimes used (I'd not heard of this one until a couple of my own coaches told me a model with the same name existed for a different purpose!)

The model I'll be talking about helps coaches and clients work through situations which occur regularly and causes the client problems or anxiety.

The model which stands for Situation; Thoughts and Feelings, Action; and Results is perfect for creating lasting change in the way someone thinks about and deals with specific challenges.

This evening we will work through a couple examples to show you how effective it is and whatsmore I'll even give you the templates so that you have a ready resource to photocopy.
